Amsterdam
Amsterdam was founded on a dam on the river Amstel in the thirteenth century. During the Reformation it rose in stature, taking trade away from Antwerp and becoming a haven for its religious refugees. It is a beguiling capital, a compact mix of the provincial and the cosmopolitan and has a welcoming attitude towards visitors and a uniquely youthful orientation. Amsterdam is a small city and, although the concentric canal system can be initially confusing, finding your bearings is straightforward. The medieval centre boasts the best of the city's bustling street life and is home to shops, bars and restaurants. For many, however, its world-class museums and galleries; notably the Rijksmuseum, with its collection of seventeenth-century Dutch paintings, and the Van Gogh Museum are reason enough to visit.
Scaent AB
Scaent AB was founded in September 2003 and was established to undertake electricity trading within the Nordic region and to invest in projects related to those activities. It was only after careful study of the local market and political conditions that the Scandinavian electricity market was chosen as the starting point. Scaent AB’s main line of activity is continues to be the import of electricity from Russia to Scandinavia and electricity trading in the Nordic power and finance market. The company has created a unique team of professional specialists to ensure its strategy remains focused and progressive. This knowledge, and experience, combined with the high level of integrity, responsibility and industry backgrounds of its professionals will ensure success, in line with the Scaent Group’s corporate strategy.

Stockholm
Stockholm is the Royal Capital of Sweden, a city like no other; a city built on 14 islands where you are never far from the water and well preserved medieval buildings stand alongside modern architecture. Stockholm is also the home of the Nobel Prize, and just outside the city the archipelago of 24 000 islands is waiting to be explored. It is a city of contrasts; water and islands, history and innovation, small town and big city, short winter days and long, light summer nights. Stockholm has got history, but also the latest in fashion and IT. You can almost go back 750 years in time and feel the medieval atmosphere of the Old Town ‘Gamla Stan’ as you wander through the narrow streets, or visit the island of Södermalm, a hotbed of fashion, youth culture and entertainment. Due to the city’s compact size, you can see and do most things in a short space of time, which makes it a perfect destination for city breaks or longer stays, all the year round.

Dublin
Beginning with the Celts in the first century AD, Dublin has enjoyed a vibrant, at times difficult, but always colourful past. The energetic Vikings, for instance, brought to the region periodic invasions, opened trade routes and named the settlement "Dark Pool" which in Gaelic became Dubh Lin. Much of today's Dublin, with its thoughtfully planned streets, elegant squares and stately townhouses looks as if it came from the 1700's Age of Enlightenment. Also beginning in this era, a strong independence movement created a swell of cultural expressions that culminated, architecturally, into much of what is known as Dublin today. After Ireland's first Parliamentary Independence came in 1782, a tremendous construction boom resulted in the creation of many governmental buildings, graceful parks and elegant homes comparable to some of Europe's finest.

Vilnius
The capital city of Lithuania was first mentioned in written sources in 1323, in letters of the Grand Duke Gediminas, which were sent to several German cities and invited Germans citizens and members of the Jewish community to settle in the city. In 1387, the town was granted city rights by Jogaila, one of Gediminas' successors. Nowadays, Vilnius is a cosmopolitan city with more than 500,000 residents and is developing at a rapid pace. It is now the economic, political and cultural center of Lithuania; combining business oriented modern life and new sky-scrapers, with unique history and an urban-architectural style. The Old Town, the historical centre of Vilnius, is one of the largest in Europe and it is here that the most valuable historic and cultural sites are concentrated, such as; Gediminas Castle and Cathedral Square; symbolizing the gateway to the historic centre of the capital. Due to its historical uniqueness, the Old Town of Vilnius was entered onto the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.

Jersey
Situated just off the coast of France on the edge of the English Channel, the beautiful Channel Islands, a British Crown dependency since 1066, are fiercely independent and justifiably proud of their history and traditions. The first of these, Jersey, lies about fifteen miles west of the coast of France and eighty four miles south of England. Jersey is about twelve miles in length, and around six miles in width, overall about thirty-six square miles, with just twenty thousand inhabitants. In Roman times it was called Caesaria and many Roman coins have been unearthed across the island, together with other antiquities. The remains of a Roman camp can still be viewed near the Manor of Dilamant. The local language and pubs may be English, but the islands were once a part of Normandy, so many of the place names and roads, as well as the food are decidedly French. This popular tourist destination also has a thriving financial industry, and most of the major financial institutions are located on the island.

Riga
Riga is located on the Baltic Sea and is the capital of Latvia with a third of all Latvians living in the city and is a lively city both during the day and at night. In almost all respects the city is the point around which life in Latvia revolves. Riga is more than 800 years old and was a major centre of the Hanseatic League, deriving its prosperity in the 13th–15th centuries from the trade with central and Eastern Europe. The urban fabric of its medieval town centre reflects this prosperity, although sadly most of the earliest buildings were destroyed by fire or war. Riga became an important economic centre in the 19th century, when the suburbs surrounding the medieval town were laid out with imposing wooden buildings constructed in a neoclassical style. As such, it is generally recognized that Riga has the finest collection of art nouveau buildings in Europe.
«back to top«Onergo Oy
Onergo Oy was formed in 1997 and, after ten years intensive study, the company announced in 2007 that it is to construct a new cross-border electricity line between Finland and Russia. The new line will be located in the Kitee region of Finland, noted for its scenic beauty, and the Scaent Group, as a socially responsible organisation, has liaised with the local community in deciding the route of the new line through the region. The Kitee project is recognised as being of historical importance, as it is planned to be the first bi-directional line between the Russian and Finnish nations and will not only serve as an additional pathway, but also as a balancing gateway allowing the electricity to freely flow in both directions and to where the requirement is greater.

Helsinki
Helsinki is the capital and largest city of Finland. It is located in the southern part of Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland by the Baltic Sea. Helsinki is Finland's administrative centre and the centre of Finnish cultural life and business activity. There is a large and varied collection of museums, galleries, and performance spaces in the city. Founded in 1550 as a rival to the Hanseatic city of Reval (today: Tallinn) by King Gustav I of Sweden, the town of Helsinki struggled in its infancy. The construction of the Suomenlinna naval fortress helped improve its status, but it was not until the Russian Czar Alexander I moved the capital here from Turku that Helsinki began to develop into a major city. The following decades saw unprecedented growth and development for the city, creating the prerequisites for the birth of a modern world class capital in the 20th century. This transformation is highly apparent in the downtown core, which was rebuilt in a neoclassical style to resemble St. Petersburg.

Trondheim
The name Trondheim derives from the old Norse Þróndheimr, meaning home of the strong and fertile ones. Situated in the county of Sør-Trøndelag where the river Nid flows into the Trondheim fjord, Trondheim is quite far north, in fact only 500 km from the Polar Circle; however the warm Gulf Stream provides the city with a fairly mild climate. Although the region had been inhabited for thousands of years, the city of Trondheim was founded by the Viking King Olav Tryggvason in 997 BC, and occupies a special place in Norwegian culture and history. Trondheim was the nation's first capital, and continues to be the coronation city where Norway's Kings from Harald Hårfagre (10th century BC) to King Harald V (1991) have been crowned and blessed. During its history the city was also a popular destination for religious pilgrimages and is an ecclesiastical centre, a regional capital, a centre for industry and commerce, and the Norwegian center of education, technical and medical research.
